Just collecting those eaves your dropped

On a commuter train in Chicago:

Person A: I've only lived in Chicago a couple of years.

Person B: Oh really? Where are you from?

Person A: New York.

Person B: What part of New York?

Person A: Connecticut.

Proving that geography is just as important as the other subjects. Wonder why they don't test THAT. But then we'd all lack the giggles provided by conversations overheard on public transportation. Or in flower shops when we want to send to Turkey and wonder why the clerk starts searching the map around New Zealand. Hm.

I should mention that the interlocutors were most assuredly drunk. Upon reflection the only thing we could guess was that this person meant he lived in a "suburb" of New York City that was actually in Connecticut. But it sure didn't sound that way . . .
